KIDS CAMP

Each year, Potomac Kids Ministry hosts Kids Camp at Pine Creek Retreat Center in Gore, Virginia. With several weeks to choose from, and a variety of guest speakers, clubs, and activities – most churches and kids could agree – it’s the best week of the summer! Registration closes May 13, 2026, so check out the helpful resources on this page to begin planning your camp experience today!

Gretta Meeker

Gretta has been in ministry most of her life, from teaching Sunday school, to being a children’s pastor and a Kid’s Bible Teacher who travels the nation encouraging children to grow in their faith.

She has been practicing therapy for 10 years. She has a Masters in Community Counseling and is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She has a heart to see children, adolescents, and families live to the fullest, as she walks with them through the difficult parts of the journey.

She loves decorating, being outside, and spending time with her family.

Randy Christensen

Randy & Karen Christensen have spent their lives ministering to kids and kidmin leaders. Randy served on the National AG Children's Ministry Council, was a District JBQ Coordinator, has spoken at over 50 weeks of kids camps and is currently the 1st Vice President of the International Fellowship of Christian Magicians. His programs include juggling, storytelling, magical illustrations, comedy characters, music and more!

Randy is also a prolific resource creator and author. Recently, Randy's comedy character, "Simon De Clown," has been featured in the National BGMC's card game.  You may see more information on Randy and his ministry at www.qualityprograms.net

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Before registering an individual or group, please review the DOWNLOADS section of this website for helpful instructions.

    Church registrations must be completed online in addition to submitting the paper forms. The Kids Camp Online Registration Guide offers a step-by-step process to make the online registration process a positive experience.

    You can also download the Kids Camp Registration Guide powerpoint for visual instructions.

    Additionally, the Deposit Reservation Guidelines provide helpful info regarding finances.

  • We recommend 1 chaperone for every 5 kids of the same gender (boys/girls) because our rooms sleep 6 people. But we will allow a 7-1 ratio (1 adult for every 7 kids of the same gender). Keep in mind that may mean that children that can't fit in the room will sleep in a room with another group.

  • Yes! chaperones must be at least 18 years old.

  • We have a recommended tips for finding adults to serve as chaperones available in the downloads section of the Kids Camp webpage to help. But if needed, we can help connect you with other groups who may be able to add a few kids to their group. We advise keeping your request to no more than 3 children per gender.

  • No - we actually prefer check payments. Checks can be made out to Potomac Kids.

  • Kids with varying needs are welcome to attend camp provided they have the adult support needed to help them fully engage in the activities and services. Please call us to talk through specific concerns.

  • No - unless their 8th birthday is in the month of July. Kids Camp is for 8-12 year olds.

  • No, but contact us if there are unique circumstances that you think could merit an exception.

  • To ensure the safety of the children we do not allow visitors.

  • No, Your deposit secures the spaces for you in your preferred week of Kids Camp. If you do not end up needing all the spaces you reserved, the deposit is not refundable. So, try to be as accurate as you can when you reserve your spaces.
