PRIVACY POLICY

This Privacy Policy explains what information the PMN Events mobile app and website (together, the “Service”) collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. The Service is operated by the Potomac District Council of the Assemblies of God, Inc. (“we,” “us,” or “PMN”). We designed it to collect as little personal information as possible.


Information we collect

Automatic, non-identifying data

  • Device identifier. When you open the app we generate a random ID that stays on your device. It is not your phone number, Apple ID, or advertising ID — it is a randomly-generated string used only to avoid sending duplicate notifications.

  • Push notification token. If you grant notification permission, we store the push token Apple or Google issues to your device so we can deliver event announcements.

  • Event subscriptions. When you open an event in the app, we record that your device is interested in that event so we can send you related updates.

  • Operational logs. Our backend provider (Supabase) keeps standard server logs that may include IP addresses for security and rate-limiting purposes. These logs are not linked to a user identity.

Information you provide

  • Survey responses. Some events include optional surveys. Questions may ask for your name or email; you may skip them unless a survey is marked required. We store only what you choose to submit.

  • Saved events. A list of events you mark as saved is kept on your device only.


How we use the information

  • To deliver push notifications you’ve opted into.

  • To show you content for events you’re attending.

  • To compile anonymous survey results for event organizers.

  • To keep the Service running, secure, and performant.

We do not use your information for advertising. We do not profile you or sell data to third parties.


How we share information

We use a small set of trusted service providers to run the app:

  • Supabase — hosts our database, storage, and edge functions.

  • Expo — relays push notifications to your device.

  • Apple Push Notification service (APNs) — delivers push to iOS devices.

  • Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) — delivers push to Android devices.

  • Vercel — hosts the admin dashboard and this website.

These providers only receive the data needed to perform their function. We do not sell data, and we do not share it with advertisers.


Your choices

  • Push notifications. You can turn them off anytime in your device Settings → PMN Events → Notifications. We will stop sending you notifications immediately.

  • Delete your device data. Uninstalling the app removes the device identifier from your phone. If you’d like us to also remove the associated push token and subscriptions from our servers, email us at the address below.

  • Survey responses. If you submitted a survey response and want it removed, contact us and we’ll delete it.


Data retention

Device identifiers and push tokens are kept as long as the app is installed and periodically refreshed. Survey responses are kept until the event organizer deletes them or until the event is archived.


Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, please contact us and we will remove it.


Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top. Significant changes will also be announced in the app.
