The Pastor Growth Group is a monthly small group for pastors and their spouses designed to help pastors succeed! You supply the motivation - the desire to learn and grow - and we'll provide teaching, support and encouragement in a safe confidential environment. Gary Butler serves as the facilitator for these interactive teaching sessions. Topics include leadership, time management, church growth, ministry skills, and church health. This training is packaged in an informative teaching series based on the 13 key pastoral competencies identified by Dr. Charles Ridley. These 13 topics are the same qualities that church planter assessments are based on as well as turn-around pastor assessments in several districts. Each group meets once a month over the course of a year. Each meeting lasts two hours and will include a teaching component (complete with PowerPoint presentation), interactive discussion, prayer, and a time of relationship building with other members of the group. Resources provided include extensive hand-out notes, personal evaluation tools, and other materials.
The growth group is designed specifically to provide valuable training and resources at an extremely modest cost - affordable for virtually any pastor of any size church! Here are the requirements for group membership:
• A commitment to regularly attend the monthly meetings for one year
• A commitment to complete assigned classwork and reading
• A commitment to keep all discussions of personal and church-related matters confidential
• Payment of an annual materials fee of $50* to help cover the cost of materials
(*The annual materials fee is waived for any church that supports the revitalization office with a monthly church pledge of any amount.)
