The Pastor Growth Group is a monthly group for pastors and their spouses designed to help pastors succeed! You supply the motivation - the desire to learn and grow - and we'll provide teaching, support and encouragement in a safe confidential environment. Gary Butler serves as the facilitator for these interactive teaching sessions. Topics include leadership, time management, church growth, ministry skills, and church health. Each group meets once a month over the course of a year. Each meeting lasts two hours and will include a teaching component (complete with PowerPoint presentation), interactive discussion, prayer, and a time of relationship building with other members of the group. Resources provided include extensive handout notes, personal evaluation tools, and other materials.
The growth group is design specifically to provide valuable training and resources at an extremely modest cost - affordable for virtually any pastor of any size church! Here are the requirements for group membership:
- A commitment to regularly attend the monthly meetings for one year
- A commitment to complete assigned classwork and reading
- A commitment to keep all discussions of personal and church-related matters confidential
- Payment of an annual materials fee of $50* to help cover the cost of materials.
(*The annual materials fee is waived for any church that supports the revitalization office with a monthly church pledge of any amount.)

Featuring Reggie McNeal video series and discussion
Pastor Growth Groups are monthly meetings for pastors, staff members and their spouses where you can spend a couple of hours in an interactive presentation and discussion about leadership and/or church health. Currently we are viewing the video version of Reggie McNeals book, The Present Future, and then discussing the material. Seven Pastor Growth Groups are currently in operation. Dates, times, and locations are as follows:
Baltimore Area Group: First Thursday of each month at 10:00 AM at Eastern A/G, 7923 Wise Avenue, Baltimore/Dundalk
Capital Virginia Group: Second Thursday of each month at 10:00 AM at Jubilee Christian Center, 4650 Shirley Gate Road, Fairfax, VA
Western Maryland Group: Third Tuesday of each month at 10:00 AM at South Cumberland A/G, 21 E Elder Street, Cumberland, MD
Morgantown Area Group: Third Tuesday of each month at 3:00 PM at Fresh Harvest A/G, 275 Canyon Road, Morgantown, WV
Capital Maryland Group: Third Thursday of each month at 10:30 AM at Trinity A/G, 7800 Good Luck Road, Lanham, MD
Tidewater North Group: Fourth Tuesday of each month at 9:30 AM at Lighthouse Worship Center, 4299 George Washington Memorial Highway (Rt 17), Gloucester, VA
