Maxine Carlson has been selected as the Potomac District’s 2010 Lay Leader of the Year and will also be our nominee from the district for consideration as the National Sunday School Teacher of the Year. Carlson was given special recognition by the Christian Education Department at the District Equipping Conference at Mechanicsville Christian Center, Mechanicsville, VA on November 7, 2009, and awarded a 7-day complimentary stay at the Massanutten Resort in Shenandoah, VA. She will also be honored in a special service in her home church.
Maxine is a Sunday school teacher at Victory Church in Winchester, VA, pastored by the Rev. David Cunsolo. She has 58 years of teaching experience to al l age groups, but is currently one of the team members in the children’s ministry department at Victory where she teaches 4-year-olds. She also leads a seniors group (ages 50-70) that serves the local food bank and is a leader at the church’s Sunday night membership class that includes participants of all ages. read more

In addition to being honored with a presentation in his/her home church, the 2011 winner will be recognized at the 2010 Equipping Conference in November.
