Honduras 100

We, Larry and Sherry Walker, missionaries with the Assemblies of God World Mission, based in Springfield Missouri, want to welcome you to our website, www.Honduras100.org. Honduras100 is an ambitious project to build 100 steel tabernacles over the next 4 years. The General Council of the Honduran Assemblies of God have planted over 100 churches in the last 1 1/2 years throughout the countryside of Honduras. These new church plants currently have no facilities in which to worship. These new congregations perhaps are having services outside under trees, many times without protection of bad weather, or inside small dwellings with insufficient space. Project Honduras100 is designed to change these circumstances by providing a simple, relatively inexpensive, easily built structural steel frame that would allow a congregation almost instant access out of the weather and in the dry.

A tabernacle is a standard size steel structure, 36' wide and 48' long. Concrete footings, structural steel columns, structural steel roof frame, and 26 gauge galvanized sheet metal roof will be provided and constructed by a visiting team, or a team of local church members. After erecting the structural frame and roof, the responsibility to finish the church, that is, the floor, walls, doors and windows, is with the local congregation. We currently estimate that a tabernacle with footings can be built for $10,000.
